1. I am from Germany
2. But live in Western Kansas
3. I am married to the most wonderful, crazy Husband there is
4. I have two cats: Felix and Katinka
5. yes they are spoiled, especially Katinka
6. I am a Doctoral Student In German at KU
7. I write my Dissertation about German National education in the 19th Century
8. I have a Fellowship this year
9. That means I just sit at home and write – theoretically
10. I don’t have as much self-discipline to do that as I hoped for
11. I read a lot – not only for school
12. At least two hours nearly every night
13. I also knit rather frentically
14. I have way to many things I want to knit than I have time or for that matter money
15. I am a continental knitter and just tried english style and nearly broke my finger
16. I don’t really like wool – it is very itchy to me but I am getting used to is
17. But I love alpaca
18. My husband is a Biology teacher – one of my least favorite subjects in school
19. I do love my parents-in-law and I am very happy that they are my family here so far away from my own
20. I like to cook and I am a pretty decent cook
21. I don’t use recipes – I just throw things together and usually it works
22. Maybe that’s why I am only an ok baker
23. I don’t really like many veggies – expecially cooked
24. But I love spinach and always have – to the annoyment of my mum who hates it
25. I am not big on sweet things
26. But I need my daily chocolate fix – but only dark chocolate
27. I love cheese
28. My husband says I am a carnivore – I guess he is right
29. I eat everything as long as it tasts good and doesn’t kill me
30. I do try everything at least twice
31. My favorite color is green but I mostly wear red, pink and purple – I just look good in it
32. My hair is my best body part – even so it is getting grey at an alarming rate
33. I decided to dye it because of the grey about a year ago – but because I have a lot hair I get it done in a salon – when I have the money
34. I have very bad eyes – and one day I will get Lasik
35. I am extremly sensitive to the sun and never leave the house without sunglasses
36. I have very strange allergies (cocoa butter, panthenol, eucalyptus, sandalwood, sea salt on the skin, every air freshener ever made …)
37. You probably could kill me with Vick VapoRub
38. I have three tattoos and love them all
39. I like to drive very fast – what is kind of a problem in this country – after all I am Autobahn trained
40. One day I want to live in Scotland
41. I am slightly ambidextrous
42. Actually some things I only can do with my left hand – like opening a bottle
43. I dream a lot and very vividly
44. I mostly can remember my dreams
45. But I still don’t know in which language I dream
46. I know I think in English – most of the times
47. Because I am not teaching German this year my German really suffers
48. Even so I write my Dissertation in German and talk to my family at least twice a week
49. I cannot sing to save my life and I think I am tone-deaf
50. But I can paint and draw rather decently
51. I am not very curios
52. That means I can sit in front of a present for days without even trying to open it
53. I love Kipling Bags and have at least 10 (ok probably more like 20)
54. Until I was 6 years old I had very short hair
55. I don’t like sodas and I hate every kind of Cola
56. I mainly drink tap water
57. I love coffee and drink way to much
58. I am trying to get my caffein intake down – it is very hard
59. I am not a morning person
60. I need at least 9 hours sleep a night – preferably more
61. I am afraid of flying
62. I don’t like elevators either – everything under 7 floors is walkable
63. I am very ticklish
64. I read the end of a book before I reach it – usually when I am in the middle of the book
65. But I only read the last page not more
66. Sometimes I miss living in Europe
67. I am not competetive at all – I really don’t care if I win or not
68. I am not very romantic – candlelight and light music just don’t do anything for me
69. I don’t like candles anyway
70. I always need a lot of light – even for watching TV
71. I don’t like red roses
72. I love yellow roses
73. I got married in the Library of KU’s German Department
74. I don’t like knick-knacks – I don’t see any possible value in them
